Todd's Adventures in Slime World was with the Lynx from its 1990 release, developed by Epyx and published by Atari Corporation: the player travels through a maze of caverns covered in slimy substances, shooting creatures while looking for the exit, in a design built from the ground up for multiplayer via ComLynx cable, with the option to connect up to eight units simultaneously. That commitment to massive social play was uncommon for a handheld of the era. It's one of the most distinctive hallmarks of the Lynx's launch catalog: an exploration shooter with a scatological sense of humor and a multiplayer ambition that was ahead of its time.
