Turbo Sub came out in 1991, developed by NuFX and published by Atari Corporation: the player operates a combat submarine that advances shooting at mechanical and biological enemies alike, through underwater settings that alternate pure-action passages with more careful dodging sections. It's one of the many side-scrolling shooters that sustained the Lynx's mid-tier catalog. Without being a mold-breaking piece, it solidly fulfills the constant-shooting formula that defined much of the era's handheld action, with an underwater setting that sets it apart from the catalog's other space or urban shooters.
