Cattle Call and Sony Computer Entertainment released it in Japan on March 20, 2003, a millennium after the events of the PlayStation trilogy. Kharg and Darc are twins, children of the human Nafia and the deimos Windalf, but one was born human and the other half deimos: raised on opposing sides, each pursues the Great Spirit Stones convinced that the other's people are the enemy.
Combat keeps the house's tactical turns, but swaps the trilogy's grid for a circular movement radius: positioning the party well lets you hit several aligned enemies with a single blow and punish them from any flank. There are also no magic points — spells come from the Spirit Stones you carry. It's the first time the series appears in three dimensions, and in Japan it marked the start of its PS2 era.
