Burnout 3: Takedown, developed by Criterion Games, took the saga's crash-and-extreme-speed formula to its highest point, introducing "takedowns" -knocking rivals out of the race by causing spectacular crashes- as a core mechanic and perfecting Crash mode, where the goal is directly to cause the worst possible chain collision. It was unanimously celebrated by critics at the time.
More than two decades later, it remains one of the most cited arcade racing games as a design reference: pure adrenaline, no simulation, with a sense of rhythm and reward that few titles in the genre managed to match.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
