Developed by Treyarch in parallel to the PC and Xbox 360 Call of Duty 2 made by Infinity Ward, it follows a platoon from the landing in North Africa to the European front, with a narrative more focused on the bonds between soldiers than on the spectacular scale of its contemporaries. It was also the first Call of Duty to have the collaboration of real veterans from the Big Red One itself to lend credibility to the missions.
Within PS2's war catalog it's one of the best-constructed shooters of its generation, with a narrative pulse that still holds up well.
