Armed and Dangerous arrived in 2003, developed by Planet Moon Studios and published by LucasArts, from the same team responsible for the quirky Giants: Citizen Kabuto. It offered a humor-driven third-person shooter, set in a medieval fantasy kingdom with outlandish weapons and absurd comedy as its calling card against the more serious shooters of the time. The character roster and art direction leaned hard into comedy, in a genre that usually took itself far too seriously. Critics gave it a lukewarm reception despite crediting it with original ideas, and it stood as a cult production for anyone looking for something different within Xbox's shooter catalog.
