Commando Raid, developed by Vidtec and published by U.S. Games in 1982, puts the player in command of a fixed cannon firing upward at waves of helicopters and android paratroopers. Every paratrooper that lands damages one of the four nearby buildings, and if too many go unstopped, they start digging a tunnel that can end up destroying the cannon entirely. With eight difficulty levels marked by enemy color, it's a solid base-defense shooter, one of the best-rated in the U.S. Games catalog.
