Sea Monster, published by Bit Corporation in 1983 for Atari 2600, puts the player in command of a ship fixed at the top of the screen that fires at sea monsters emerging from different ocean depths, each worth points proportional to how deep it was hiding. It's, in essence, one more variation on the formula Space Invaders and Demon Attack had already popularized, without distinct levels or substantial pace changes beyond a gradual difficulty adjustment. It allows one- or two-player games with several speed settings, in line with the era's custom of offering multiple "games" within a single simple cartridge.
