Space Cavern, published by Games by Apollo in 1982 for Atari 2600, was born directly inspired by the success of Demon Attack: the company's founder, impressed by that game, commissioned his team to create a similar offering, and the result was this fixed shooter where the player defends a ship stranded on a hostile planet from the Electrosauri and Marsupod creatures attacking it from the sky. It offers twenty-four game variants, activated via the 2600's own difficulty switches, which alter enemy quantity and speed. The following year it also circulated, unchanged, under the name Space Canyon courtesy of publisher Panda.
