Cross Horde is part of the same family of titles as Cross Bomber and Cross Shoot, all built by Fabrizio Caruso on top of his CROSS-LIB library to bring simple mechanics to several retro platforms at once, the Lynx included. Here the proposal is one of endurance: hordes of enemies that grow in number and speed while the player tries to survive as long as possible. These are games designed for short sessions and high scores, closer to an arcade exercise than to a narrative production, and they document well how the current homebrew scene reuses its own engines to quickly expand a catalog across several systems.
