Eye of the Beholder had been born in 1991 on computers as one of the great references of Western first-person RPGs, with grid-based dungeon exploration and real-time turn-based combat. Studio NuFX took on a Lynx conversion in 1993 that stayed at demo stage, just a few playable screens, with the project never reaching completion or official release. Today it circulates among collectors as a preserved prototype, one of the most ambitious — and most frustrated — attempts to bring a full dungeon RPG to the small screen of an early-90s handheld.
